치아의 파괴는 전혀 보이지 않고, 증상도 없지만 치아가 만나는 부위의 색이 검게 변해 있습니다. 치아 사이에 충치가 생겨있는 경우입니다. 마취를 한 후 치아의 단단한 껍질(에나멜)을 제거해 보면 내부에 깊은 충치가 생겨 있는 것을 확인할 수 있습니다. 특히 인접면 충치는 위의 증례와 같이 2개의 치아에 동시에 충치가 생기는 경우가 대부분입니다. 치아의 본을 떠서 기공물을 만드는 기존의 방법과 달리 컴퓨터를 이용하여 치료 당일 바로 제작하는 CEREC3 라는 장비를 이용하여 충치치료를 할 수 있습니다.
